Forcing FFXI to run on my laptop

I have an HP pavillion ze4900 laptop with an Intel 82852/82855 Graphics controller. I installed FFXI once and patched it, only to find that my graphics card did not support the game. I've heard little things here and there about people who know how to force the game to run reguardless, but haven't been able to find a ton of information on the topic.

Does anybody have experience with these graphics cards and getting FFXI to run with them?

Well.. if it doesn't work with the latest drivers doesn't work, I guess there's nothing you can do. That's just what I think though. If you can, you can try to have a different graphics card build in your laptop.

sure there is, check your open slots....and, get a graphics card, check out some websites and see what the reviews say and if your not sure still, try doing a search on google for tests run with the video cards that are ear marked by the games website, like GeForce FX or ATI Radeon 9**** series

and search for FFXI click on test my computer and you will have all the PC specs on your computer even shows the parts of your computer that fails and where it fails there is links to websites that will update or whre you can purchase the hardware your PC requires to pass

search by the term "3D-Analyze." it should still come up w/ threads that deal w/ this hardware-TnL-emulating app.

still it is not possible to be mor4e clear than that is going to be tough
I dont try to give false hope ever, so try the answer is I have not come accross any solution to your problkem, a problem I had for the last few weeks, my solutio to the problem you have is buying a video card that is going to work for more than FFXI but make sure that first and formost any new hardware is going to do what you want and stand the test of time and keeps you enthused
