Graphics? or something else.

For the most part the game runs smoothly.
But every 30sec or so the whole animation and sound would "skip".
Sounds like a skip in a cd/the animation happens at the same time.
Don't know how else to explain it.

Here is my setup (best of my knowledge)

Dell 8400
Geforce 6800 pci (using 66.93 driver)
Win xp w/all current updates.
1 gig ram
Soundblaster live 24 bit

That's about it,I'm at a loss.
The benchmark at high res runs about 5k+

Any pointers? please keep in mind I'm not verry comp savvy.

what else do you have running at the same time as FFXI? try to eliminate as many extra programs as possible while playing.

Well I don't know how to check that stuff out.

Even if I did I'm not sure what programs I need running,and which ones I don't.
If you could nurse-maid me thru the steps, you would have my thanks.....
