ff11 freezing

does anyone's ff11 freeze occasionally??? for some reason, my ff11 freezes from tiem to time and i gota reboot my computer... i have no idea why..

This post will most likely be moved by a moderator, but not wanting to sound like an asshat, we do have a forum that deals with technical issues like this and I'm pretty sure I've seen a post addressing your problem (It will, however, help for you to elaborate on your problem, because right now all I'm getting is that your game just stops running periodically without any background information and details on how you're running the game)

running on pc.. and it freeezes.. random freezes... sometimes 10 mins, sometimes never.. sometimes 1hr... dont know whats wrong.. once it hangs, i cant even alt tab or whatever...

Most likely Bad ram/ overheat issue. Maybe combination of both.

Try putting a fan on an open case (not recomended long term) and see if it gets better.

If so, it's probably ram issue, and needs to be replaced. Ram's the first to go when it comes to intensive programs like games, in a hot environment.

Other possiblities are:

USB->PS2 converter
Power Supply
GPU(though rarely does it happen, you can underclock it to check)

Software wise...windows can do weird stuff, but with XP, straight forward freezes are rare unless a program decides to 100% cpu grab.

yeah it could be anything dealing with your computer. CPU, RAM, HARDDRIVE, is it to hot, did the fan on the CPU stop, did the fan on the GRAPHICS CARD stop. is your GRAPHICS CARD old, outdated, need a driver update. then again maybe windows takes a periodical dump.

no, its not overheat, cuz if it is my computer should have this beeping sound, but im not getting any.. this is the only game thats doing this too! i play other games that have higher requirements and im not getting any hangovers. =\

Not your computer doesn't have to beep if it's Overheating.

It only beeps if the CPU is over the limit, because that's all a mobo checks.

Any other component can over heat, depending on senerios

Further problem is that Overheating may only effect intensive programs like games, cause of error lockup.

It would work fine surfing the internet, but once you crunch, heat and voltage is an issue.

The likely cause is RAM, as a bad ram would work fine until intensive user, which will crap out at enough heat, and lock up a computer.

HDD can also do that, but usually you can hear it because it's spinning.

As for ffxi vs other games, ffxi has very little off loading, meaning it's all done by the comp.

But in this case, could be a bad .dat file. run a scan on your HDD with chkdisk or something.
