  • PAC Files

I looked over on google what PAC files are, but it seems it doesn't seem right.

See I see PAC files in a game folder that contains voices, graphics, . . . etc. However what it says on google has something to do with a proxy server? or something like that.

Can someone explain .PAC files to me please?

    Re: PAC Files

SBStudio uses .PAC (package) files to contain all the sound patterns belonging to a certain song, etc. I'm guessing that the game is using/based off SBS's .PAC file format.

        Re: PAC Files

Haven't played with it at all but might want to look into these two links. They look like two of the most promising programs from filext.com. Hope that helps a little.

            Re: PAC Files

I've had this same desire to open .PAC files, from Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst's sound effects being stored in them.. I've never found anything on it, but I'm sure there's SOMETHING out there.
