Once more i post AND once more ill get flamed by lifeless losers.....now on to my point

Im going to get a laptop for xmas and i was woundering if i load ffxi on there should i change the .dat files on there to like i am doing on my computer at home.I would like to know if its a good idea to change it on lap tops and also one more things could changeing .dat files lag me alot more then i already am?

the short answer is yes you can change your dats, but if your laptop is junk, don't expect decent framerates with the game. changing dats would not affect the framerate unless you do something incredibly stupid.

actually, darkages, your typing seems to be getting better lately. in the last few posts you've made, you've been much more clear and concise than you used to be, and you've even started using punctation good job

Being told to correct your grammar isn't flaming, it's people looking out after their own eyes. Your grammar and spelling isn't great, but it's passable. >_>;

I play on a laptop in my dorm. I have the same .dat changes I made on my desktop at home and I get no lag at all. I just make sure I don't have any other applications running in the background. The changed .dats just render like normal armor. I don't see why they should/would lag more.

If you do lag, turn off the sound and your shadows. It usually ups your frame-rate 4-5ish on a laptop. Make sure when you first buy your laptop to define what processes/programs are loaded when you start the computer. My Toshiba came with almost 61 processes running at startup and I pared that down to 56.

if your hardware specs are close or equal to your main pc, then it should work the same.

For the love of god, if you don't know how to spell something, please use the dictionary. People are getting tired of your inability to spell.
