    The 6600/6600 GT kicks the 5900/9800's butts on benchmarks and are also under $200. ^^

      True............BUT! those cards are PSU hungry and require PCI-Express.So the old ones win this round

        False on pci-express. Mine is agp. Why would i recommend a psi-express-only card in a thread discussing 5900 and 9800?

            the thing about nvidia cards is that you have to set the quality setting in driver panel to 'high quality' and make sure all optimizations are off to approach the image quality of ati cards. also, be sure to set 'negative lod bias' to 'clamp' in the driver as this gets rid of certain texture image degradation in some games.
