I'm close to ordering my new computer but, I would like to know which of these two graphic cards is the best. The one is GeForce FX5700LE, 256MB and the other is GeForce FX5900.

i wouldn't bother with the fx line. they are flawed in that they have poor dx9 implementation so dx9 games will run in dx8.1 mode. get a 6600gt or 6800 or x800 if your on a budget. for the more high end get a 6800gt/ultra or x800pro/xt.

well you can always try oc'ing your card if you want faster performance. also for better image quality in the driver panel turn off all optimizations and set graphical setting to the highest.

and i'm not sure wether ff online has in-game aa and af options but if it doesn't you can force global aa and af through the driver panel.

Dizz, it depends on what you have to work with. If you have a crappy card, you'll get crappy results no matter what you do.

fyi you can't force AA on ffxi through the drivers, but you can get pseudo AA by a registry edit.

save your money for a 6600 or 6600 gt is the best advice tho. Especially for AGP.

I gotta geforce 6600 gt agp 8x....my graphics look kinda bad because I don't know what settings to use >.<;

I use AA/AF off (the game ignores AA settings). Image settings: Performance, V-sync Application controlled.

my 9800pro reflashed to the 9800xt works wonderful for ffxi and makes bf2 look great

Yep.I have a Radeon 9800XT wich is running perfectly,I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon...The best thing about the card is that you can find them for under $200 .
