    Can you play FFXI on linux? Has anyone tryed?

    I haven't tried personally, but I'd guess you could probably do it through wine. There's probably a lot of tweaking and hand editing config files you will need to do to get this to work, so make sure you don't mind getting your hands dirty if you try this ^^

        if you got the latest VMWare, probably. WINE is still iffy for many things and i doubt it'll work.

          Unfortunately VMWare is proprietary software and will taint your distribution and kernel if you install it. However, neighbortaru is right, you can probably easily get FFXI to work in VMWare. Link.

          Things definitely don't look to bright for wine playing FFXI, as you can see in their application database here. If you're still interested though, I would suggest playing around with it. We need bug reports if we ever want to play FFXI in Linux
