ok this is a stupid mistake i made and it shows how bad i am with computers, i just bought this computer from a internet cafe that was closing down and i was cleaning some stuff that was on it and it was playing sound for FFXI just fine but i think i took something off and now it wont play any sound for anything and i dont know what kind of sound card the computer uses so if anyone can offer advise or detail in what i should do it would really help alot.

Hmmm. Do this, download and run "Belarc Advisor" : http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and look for anything under the sound bit. Copy and paste it here, and we'll have a look. Alternatively, you can PM or 'AIM' me and i'll help you out.
