hi i bought ff xi today and because i already know that my current graphics card doesent work(before i go on i should say i do know i bit about computers but not really that much about graphics cards)so i go to the store all going well and i buy a graphics card a geforce 4 and i get home realise ...i have a pci system so i go back to the shop to refund it ..i get a refund they say they dont stock pci cards but other places down the street do so i look around most good places are shut like pc world(btw i'm in the uk)
but i manage to find a small shop that sells pci cards he says the best he has is a 32mb pci for 35 pounds i say ok i buy it and go home open the box...and it's a agp -_-(it's a ati radeon 7000 sapphire)
so i was wondering if there were any pci cards i could get for 70or under quid? your help would be very much helpful
    thanks

you dont have an agp slot?

thats weird....the agp slot should be above the pci slots (probably a different color too)

most of the video card boxes tell you if its pci or agp...

(mainly on the back) but most of the time for a PCI card, they state it in the front of the box..

since you from U.K ...im clueless..lol...u can try ebay?

I wish I had better news for you, but old school PCI as an interface for graphics cards is going the way of the dodo bird. I did a quick search on http://www.pricewatch.com and found a few GeForce cards like the MX440 and MX4000 along with ATI's 7200, 7500, and 9200. I'm not quite certain of the conversion from British pound to US dollar, but I believe those will be in your price range. You may see more of an improvement by upgrading other parts of your computer if all it has are PCI slots. For example, you may be running an old pentium 2 or still be using EDO ram, either of which will not contribute positively to your online gaming experience. To get an idea of how far you might stretch your money, you could check out E-bay, but be very careful before purchasing any parts there and read all the small print. Hope that helps.
