  • A question about JP FFXI Installation...

    Ok here's what happened...
    Yesterday changed the name of the JP POL Icon in my POL folder and I had to reinstall my JP and EN versions of POL and FFXI. I installed POL this morning with no prob, then I tried to install my JP copy of FFXI. After a few mins of installing a window popped up asking for a disc in EN which is odd since I was using a JP disc...the very same I used to install the JP POL...I tried my 1st and 2nd JP disc and neither worked ;_;

    So..does anyone have an idea of what might be going on? Btw I did have the JP and EN ver of FFXI/POL installed but I uninstalled both last night

    Throw out your JP cd's and install NA.
    Why can't we bring all this back again? -Drew Seymour Price, 53drk

        ..I dont think i got pwned...and I have NA cds btw..I just cant install the JP FFXI...I believe I can just install NAFFXI/Zilaart and just register Zilart thru POL...and I have a second comp upstairs...I'll try up there..

        EDIT: Anyways...if this doesnt work I can play thru Xyphere on a comp with NA FFXI/Zilart...I have before on my friends comp via "Guest Login"...and I can still change CC info with JP ver of POL...

          JP ffxi defaults to /programfiles directory and is unchangeable. NA ffxi is flexible and you can designate which folder to install it into. Having said that, assuming you had nothing installed on your HDD, install and patch JP client first, then designate a separate folder for NA. If you do it vice versa you will encounter problems because the JP client will unpackage in the same directory as NA.
