even after you uninstall kazaa, it may still leave it's curse on you... get and adware/spyware remover and delete every last kazaa file/ registry key you have

theres only like 1 version of kazaa that DOESNT have spyware and it wil still lag your computer. It's not that bad though unless you are trying to play a game or something at the same time.

that's not entirely true. kazaa by nature is spyware (after all, why would they make kazaa w/o 3rd party spyware if they didn't already have spyware built in, else they'de lose money) , and because of that, it can slow down your comp even when it is not being run by you.

if you want a p2p program, use bittorent if possible, it allows for good dl speed with just the right ammount of ul, it only allows ul of what you dl or seed, and there is no adware/spyware if you use official release or bittornado 0.3.2 (only two im certain of, others may or maynot have it)

its basically Kazaa without the spyware, adware IP tracker stuff. (basically blocks your IP so those government dudes dont catch you or something.. idk..)

but, you have to completely remove the spyware ridden kazaa first and completely (go to your isp's homepage and search for a kazaa remover, most have it, specially if your isp is your cable company, they hate huge uploads ), haveing almost any piece of kazaa will mean lag... then install k-lite and turn it off when you play ffxi

Even with K-lite I found spyware on my computer, and I wasn't using the internet apart from that program. Anything to do with Kazaa is the devil.

I am now using Limewire 4 or something, and it is doing the job even better and I have yet to trace any spyware.

omecle, you can get spyware from visiting almost any small time site with a lot of adds (and some without). just reciently microsoft finally adressed a used way for people to add spyware to comps, after half a year it was made public.... and now mozzilla also had a security problems addressed....

it's kind of hard for someone not to have spyware/adware if they don't check several times a week..
