Connection Lag issues, help me diagnose ^_^

Well when I got the game in November (was it that long ago?) the game ran well. I hardly experinced disconects (like once a month) and lag (delay in actions) wasn't that bad.

Unfortunetly as of lately it has been getting worse and worse. It took me 15 minutes to connect today, and I got disconected twice. This lag and delay has been happening since maybe New Years or so.

Heres the funny part, I live within a mile of two other friends and we all use the same Cable provider and neither of them experince the same issues (disconnects, problems logging in, etc).

Here's my setup Cable>>>CableModem>>>Router(SMC7004VWBR)>>>1. My gamming PC which is hardwired in 2. Laptop that is crap and on wireless 3. Other pc that is on wireless

I don't think I am taxing my internet connection, and my router has a firewall nothing fancy just blocks stupid stuff from comming in. So what could it be? Am I missing something such as software settings etc etc? Are there ways I could boost my connections or something?

the first thing i would do is update my virus scanning software and scan all of the pc's on my network. if you have welchia or something like it, you could effectively be attacking your own network (denial of service). that would be a simple fix, and that's where i'd start.
