i need serious help

for some reason whenever i play almost any game, my comp will just turn off or crash by itself after a certain time...sometimes after a couple of minutes...or a couple of hours..but no matter how long, it crashes sometime. my video card is an ati9800, and yes i have updated its driver, so it has nothing to do with that. and i have bought a new hard drive...and it still crashes...and if its overheating, i took off the tower so it has more air to cool down with, but i might just as well buy a mini house fan and cool it like that to save some money...but some people say it could be my power supply....i have no f'in idea what the problem is...but because of this problem, i cant play ffxi, and couldnt play for about 2months....somebody please tell me what i can do....and defragment doesnt work either.

What version of Windows are you running?

What processor do you have?

How much memory do you have?

What kind of power supply do you have?

What brand of computer do you have?

Do you know how to check the Event Viewer in WinXP? (My Computer --> Manage --> Event Viewer)

Are there any Errors listed in the Event Viewer at around the same time as your crashes?

If so, what applications are crashing and what reason does it give for the errors?
