  • This WILL run FF11 on max settings...right?

these are the stats for my new comp im getting in a couple of weeks. i know it can EASILY handle ff11, but all i would like to know is that if it is able to run the game with all settings maxed out. here are the stats.

    pentium 4 3.0 Ghz

    1024mb (400mhz) ddr memory

160 gb hard drive with 8mb cache.

    128 mb radeon 9800 all-in-wonder

    sound blaster audigy 2

also i know this is kind of off topic, but can this comp also play half life 2 and everquest 2 'well'. not everything maxed out (even though it would be nice ^_^) but with most/all settings turned high/max.

thx a lot in advance for any replies.

    I'd guess so.

I'd imagine with the p4 3.0 you are getting 800 front side bus Motherboard and ram right? In that case, yeah it would for sure.
I'd definately go 800 FSB if building a new one. Its worth the extra bucks. You have to make sure the ddr ram supports that FSB even if the p4 proc does.

No one can really know about Everquest 2 at this point. I would say it should but it would depend if EQ2 is more optimized than Luclin or some of the EQ1 additions. It SHOULD be since its a new game.

thx aniedi. ill be slightly more specific with the stats

pentium 4 3.0 Ghz (800 mhz) fsb + hyper threading

      1024mb (400mhz) ddr memory Pc 3200

160 gb hard drive 7200rpm with 8mb cache.

      128 mb radeon 9800 all-in-wonder

      sound blaster audigy 2

      Motherboard = high end: 8x agp, 5pci, ata133.

i guess i pass the FSB test is there any way to make sure that the ddr ram supports that fsb even if the p4 proc does?

sorry for the probably stupid question, but im not technical with computers. However, i think that it isn't since the ddr is at 400mhz while the cpu runs at 800mhz. Im only using common sense here, without hardly any technical CPU knowledge so i probably got it wrong

dude... your memory/cpu/ fsb all runs at 200:sweat:

        your cpu is 200 * 15, memory is 200 * 2, fsb is 200 * 4 ("quad pumped")

this means all fits in VERY well

i just hope you have a 400w or higher PSU
