ppl with p4 1.5ghz ish running FFXI

how is the game running for you guys?

##my comp spec
p4 1.5 ghz
1gig rdram (rambus)
radeon 9000 pro (running 4x agp)

##game setting
1024x768 screen size
1024x1024 resolution
background animation setting off

i still lag a lot at places (like wadi... unplayable) dunes is okay unless there are huge groups running infront of me. i thought turning the animation setting off would make the weather conditions go away, but it didn't.. is there another setting for that??? i still see sandstorms, rains, etc... ne help would be great

what connection you on? my computer is pretty much the same as yours but i'm only running a geforce 4 and i don't get lag, the random jolt some times while moving but thats ir, unless theres a mass amount of stuff going on like 50 parties around me or R 2k+, best thing to do is have filters on and i have damage that pops up not text and i only have the overlay graphics on 800x600. it could be possible your cpu is over heating and slowing down, check your heatsink and fan for dusts it can make a serious difference.

i display all my damages on screen and none in chat window... and even when i reduce the screen size to 640x480, i still get the same lag... even tried reducing the resolution to the lowest setting.. but still laggy... some ppl mentioned anti-alising on video card... but i don't see anything on my display setting to adjust that... i guess i'll tinker it a bit more
