I need to get a new computer in order to play ffxi but i kind of have a 700 dollar budget with whcih to buy one. Can I get a fairly decent system that will run the game pretty well that costs under 700$? Any input or direction at all would be greatly appreciated

If you're into building computers I have a setup that comes to $660 so (including shipping/handling and sales tax). You can find the topic here: http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/sho...threadid=24187
You will need to take the monitor, CD-ROM Drives, mouse, keyboard, and speakers from another system. If you don't want to build a computer then try http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/home.htm
you can customize a computer for a good price there.

yeah i was looking into building a computer but it is really hard to make a decent one for under 700 dollars. Yours was good but then factoring in OS would make it like 750$ not to mention that i have to get new cd rom drives and all that stuff. My comp is really ancient. I took a look a thte cyberpower website and the prices were phenomenal. I made a P4 computer with a 2.6 gig processor and radeon 9600 pro video card for like 650 dollars. The awesome prices on this website though are a bit unsettling though. Do you know at all about how reliable cyberpower is?

Im not sure how reliable that site is, but if you really want to know I would search the website some. Usually they have awards for good service or something like that.
Oh, and if you are getting a computer from that website make sure you get yourself a monitor... the packages don't come with them which is why the prices are so low. (You can find the option to buy a monitor when you are customizing the computer)
If you really don't want to pay for the OS, just find a friend who has the install disc for XP... its way better than paying an extra $80 for it.
