game freezes

when i go in ffxi it freezes when i get in the game...sometimes it freezes when i log in
my specs are:
amd athlon xp(dont know the number...)
1.4 ghz
512 ram
radeon 9600pro
(i dont know the motherboard..if you need it..)
oh yeah, it didnt freeze when i had my old video card and it was radeon 7000 series(yeah..i know it really sucks..) and then when i installed my new one it freezes at a instance when i start the game...maybe its my fan..or maybe i need to update..please help me thanks

there have been problems on some configurations using the catalyst 3.8 drivers. i suggest you either roll back to 3.7, or go get the new 3.9 (might be beta, i haven't checked yet)
