  • Computer frooze

When my computer is idle for 4+ hours, sometimes it freezes up the screen and I gotta press the reboot button..
Sometimes it froozes, and sometimes it doesnt.. it's very weird and annoying, because I gotta keep my computer always on, and when I go to sleep or work, and someone sends me a message or something, I lose it..
    My specs:
    Athlon XP 2158 (3000)
    Asus A7V333
    1024 DDR @ 333 MHz
    120 GD HDD (2 partitions)
    Radeon 9600 pro 256 MB

It started to frooze a week before FFXI was released, and I have no idea of why it froozes It's not a virus, I've checked it already, and the heat of the procesator is about 57-62C.

It sounds like you have a heating problem. 57-62°C is pretty high...I start worrying when my temps go above 55°C. Have you tried adding more fans to your computer?

That's my box, it says "Includes (3) 80mm cooling fans (adjustable speed)" I have them at high...

sounds like someone needs to learn air flow management.

First are you sure your, HSF(heatsink fan) is on the core properly.
I guess it is cause if it wasn't then you would have a burnt core.

        now for some tips,

There should be two fans in the back, always. they should blow OUT. and your fan on your HSF should blow away from the core... i know this sounds weird but what it is really doing is sucking though the fins and removing the heat... dont underestamate the power of sucking.... lol. Then you should have fans in the from for some intake, but most people do not. side fan is nice since it cools the dead zone of the computer, where the PCI AGP slots are.

YOu could always get a Thermalright SLK-947u, that would bring those temps WAY down. but yeah you should never let it get above 50c... how did you make the degree sign? Anyway, gl.
