My Laptop, wheres the weakness?

Heres the specs of my laptop. I only can get a max of 2400-2500 on the FFXi2 Benchmark, high resolution. Looking for any suggestions.. if u need any other specs just ask

Dell INSPIRION 8500
-Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R)4 -M CPU 2.60GHz
768 MB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go
-Memory - 64MB
-Bus- AGP 4x

You don't have nearly enough memory and your video card is sub par. Expanding your memory will help drastically, put it up around 256MB or 512MB.

The 64 MB is the memory on the card... not my actual memory. (i have 768mb ram..) Hence why its indented. And that video card happens to be one of the best you can get on a laptop. Care to try again? Lol

Btw heres some more info on my processor if you need it..

Im sorry, but no. First of all there is no 'ti 4200 go'.. its a geforce 4 4200 go. Secondly this is the best video card that can be put into an INSPIRION.. and its on par with a ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 (if not better). Im not trying to be mean here, but this isnt helping. Not only are those comments completely wrong, but they dont even answer my question... 'whats the weakness'. If something is the best you can get, then how on earth is that a weakness?

actually, you can get a >9500 radeon for laptops, and that owns the ti 4200 go, which you have (it is implyed )

That card cannot be put into an INSPIRION, trust me I looked into it. This is the best I can get, even though its a laptop, anyone suggest overclocking?:sweat:

well as for Mobile Video cards there isnt much you can do about that. The TI 4200go should be good enough to run FFXI. I am not sure what your problem is, you system seems fine, and that is the point range i expect for it. As for OCing, forget it.... Dude you got a Dell. That means no OCing. They use a OEM modified version of the intel board. But if you are still interested, and by some wierd twist of fate you CAN oc that thing, look up on Hardwarewiz.com, ask some of us there and we can help you further. Your system is only weak cause its a Dell. Just keep the OS clean and free of spyware, virus' and any unneeded programs running in the systray.

The bad thing about laptops are they are not upgradable nor overclockable, what you see is what you get. Now as for system ram, I assume its DDR, and 512 should serve you well. I also assume its PC2700 see it is a laptop. But ram is not a weak point.
The Proc is solid too. Sorry there isnt any weak points that can be "fixed" everything is the way its gonna be. I'll try to do some research on Mobile Video Cards, and get back to you on it, but i would advise you to ask around at Hardwarewiz.com.

Naw dont do any research just for lil' ol me^^. I did some tweaking of some things(mostly XP & vid card settings).. and i got my score to break 3500 without overclocking.

3000 to 3999: "Very tough" PC
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows enjoyably with the default settings. If your video card exceeds the recommended system requirements, it may be possible to run "FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows" easily even in high resolution mode.
