What Should I get?

I have a few hundred extra dollars *lets just say $275*

I wanna do some more upgrades to my new computer. And I dont really know tha tmuch about computers, I'm slowly learning *thanks mainly to a lot of you, I've been readin this discussion quite a bit lately and it's really been helping me understand the basics of CPU building*

Anyways, here's my PC's specs:

AMD 2600+ XP 2.08ghz
MSI 52x32x52 CDRW
MSI 16x DVD
Floppy Drive 1.44
40 GB HD
MSI K7n2 Delta-L Mobo 8x
512mb PC2700 DDR333
128mb ATi Radeon 9200

*sorry if some stuff wasn't evne important to list, I was just going off of my reciept*

So, back to what this topic was about. What should I upgrade/add/buy?

I'm asking you guys mainly because I don tknow what I'm doing, and looking for some guidanace. Thanks in advance.

Also one more thing, I seem to be having a problem with my sound. The dude at the comp shop said my mobo had 5.1 onboard sound *no idea if that's good or waht*

Anyways, when I set it up, I took some speakers off of another computer setup I have and hooked them up to my new PC and I'm having no sound coming through, and the speakers work on my other two PC's...so I dont know what's going on.

Anyone give mea heads up on it maybe?

Onboard sound tends to be poor quality, most manufacturers use the cheapest components they can get. Oh, and 5.1 is surround sound (5 channels/speakers) and 1 subwoofer.

Your system is pretty nice, although your videocard is pretty outdated now, you might wanna put a new Radeon 9600 or 9700 in there. Other than that there's not much I can tell you, maybe to buy a cheap creative labs 5.1 sound card.
