  • GF FX 5900 Drivers

    Wanted to let anyone with this card know about the new (not yet released) 52.16 drivers. If you dont have them, get them. Here are my scores/specs before and after:

    2500+ OCd to 3200+
    1gig 3200 dual channel ram
    GF FX 5900 128 mb ram
    45.xx drivers
    score = 5000+

    52.16 drivers
    score = 6200 +

    As you can see with these drivers you get an INCREDIBLE boost.

    i congradulate you on your score, too bad you werent informed enough to buy a radeon 9800 pro honestly, i dont intend to be mean, its jsut when people are deceived due to NVidias cheating, its kind of sad, that nvidia would do that to their fans.

    Although i got close to 9500 on the high benchmark, yours is still more than enough to "experiance" the game the way it was "meant to be played" lol

    P.S. i have almost the same specs as you, but my barton (2800) is phase change chilled, and runs right now at -10 on full load.

      Hmrph... and I sit here worrying that my 2800 is pegging too hot at 50-55c! How hard was a phase change chilling system to install?

        If you want to bash Nvidia, go do it on a hardware site like HardOCP.

        Nice bump in speed there man (and nice comp). Yeah, even going from the leaked driver set (51.75) to the new 52.16 I also got a slight bump in speed.

        My Computer:

        AMD Athlon 64 3200+
        1gig 3200 DDR Ram
        GF FX 5900 Ultra

        51.75 High - 6402
        52.16 High - 6572

        And to give a comparision, I also ran it on my Hercules 9800 Pro:

        Catalyst 3.8 High - 7431

        One thing I noticed was the IQ (image Quality) had definitely improved in the new 52.16 driver set. I especially noticed this at the waterfall scene.

          The GF FX 5900 can do a lot better, they just need to get better drivers for them to unleash its potential using direct X. In any case a 9800 pro was about 100-150$ more than my card, so i dont feel i got ripped off at all.

            HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAh dude I mean seriously you gotta stop with the lies man. HAHAHAHA go lie somewhere else. This is at least your second time. Just because some people here do not know that much about computers, and overclocking does not mean the I do not. Please take your posts somewhere else because they hurt my eyes.

            As for the New dets.

            They incorporate a new shader compiler. As well as various tweaks to change the processing type of pixels. True they have gained slight increases. But the methode is questionable. They override ps2.0 lighting effects and use 1.4. Blah Nvidia has gone way down the tubes, buy ATi till the new geforce comes out. But by then the new Radeon will be out. Hmmmmm

              well, its not that hard to apply, but makeing it was hard. Also condensation will really mess up your computer if not handled with the utmost attention.

                how immature...honestly, why would i put 9500 if i could of put 200000? cause im not stupid. The FFXI Benchmark 2 is more CPU reliant, than GFX, although they all play a significant role. And it was my fault for not telling you all that i got that score with my other rig, not the barton. My other rig consists of radeon 9700 PRO overcllocked, and an intel 2.4 Mhz 800 FSB CPU, overclocked to 3.9GHz. Dont believe me??? i dont care. Ill try to post some pics of my scores, and prove to you that 9000 on the bench is a reality. Until then, call me whatever u want, all i know is that your poor ass comp cant even come close to my comp in any game.

                  LoL In your other post you made before you said it was a 1700+ AMD in which you over clocked to 3.9. Now you have a p4? Which is it? Come on feed us more lies. Keep on going to google to find your answers. And my comp cant even come close to yours in any game? Whoa! watch out doppelganger! watch out Kia. Hes got a fast computer! And hes not afraid to use it.

                  Sorry loser nice try

                    i fried my 1700 by increasing the multiplyer too high. also, i upped the voltage to above 2v, which is alot. The reason why i got the P4 is because my 1700 died, and i wanted to same performance, but wanted to try the 2.4 P4, due to its good overclockability.
