Viewing pics in threads

I wasn't too sure where to post this, but I'm thinking this is a computer related problem (definitely not FFXI related) so here I am.

There have been countless threads where people post pictures and I don't see a thing. Now, sometimes, it will say "soandso has attached this file" or something like that and I click on the link and see the picture. But then there are other times when I don't see anything and yet I see people replying to the post saying things like "awesome picture". So obviously something is there. I was thinking that maybe it was just with old threads and the pictures got deleted, but it's on current threads as well. I don't know if it's a setting I have to change with my browser or what. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. I'm missing out on so many good FFXI screenshots ; (

p.s. Sorry if this has already been posted about. I tried to look through the forums, but the server for this page/forum is deathly slow (as I'm sure everyone is aware of) so I didn't get very far.

Well, first of all what connec u got? 56k, cable, dsl?
2nd, its prob just this slow site, dont get me wrong i like this place alot but damn..... I personally think that all those pics ppl post in there threads should be posted in the screenshot section and just have links there. Instead of the same pic in 8-10 diff threads. Just my opinion, i got all those sigs and avatars disabled and its still slow so i dunno if that would help or not.
