Heya..lol Help me make a comp

Ok i have a Ok computer it runs FFXI ok, but i need better =DDD

Ok im buying a new monitor next thursday, cause this one is a pos and if i dont get an ything else, i want atleast a new monitor

Speakers/mouse/keyboard/CD drivesss (3 lol)

So what i need is a Case, and motherboard
Aton of Ram (DDR if possible) lol i love the ram
2gighz or higher processor.....im not picky on brands btw
Video card..well lets say i plan on getting a nice one..which one is nice..i dont know i would like a Geforce cause most games support that
what im i forgetting...Oh a sound card ...Nice is good, but all i really need is a one that works, so if the mobo has one then i dont need it

50 gigzh or more memory wise......If you happen to know a good site to check out, or a magizine to check

Im currently working and making 1.5 k a month so price is almost nothing sense the only thing i need to spend it on is food and i dont eat that much food lol

steps -

2. check out a few people's dream system wishlists
3. buy one of them.

odds are it'll consist of a..
p4 2.4c - 3.2 ghz processor (800 mhz fsb)
asus mobo supporting 800 mhz fsb
radeon 9800 pro (128, well, go 256 if you really want)
1 gig of memory (2 512 meg sticks), corsair xms, and kingston hyperx are nice, not sure on the 'best' p4 ram speeds
120 gig hard drive, 7200 rpm with an 8 meg cache. western digital, seagate, and maxtor are nice. IBM deskstar series used to be a favorite.. you could also go for a raid configuration with two drives <.< i'll leave some of this to aero

as for cases, i recommend the antec sonata. it's incredibly quiet, and runs my system just as cool with only 3 fans in the entire case as some people with like 5+ volcanos x.x (they're loud, loud fans.) OR you could go for a watercooled case if you want to blow a little extra cash :D

p.s. what do you do that's paying 1.5k a month? that's like what 400 a week after taxes are taken out? not bad for a guy that only has to buy food =D

Our monthly income is about 3k, 1.8k is from my wife alone, she's working for the state. But right now we just got a new home so furnishing it is draining the bank account for the most part LoL.

I'm acutally in pretty much the same situation as sarkiss except I'm living at home for college, so i don't pay for jack. The work sucks but it's hard to argue w/ the pay ya know?
Anyway, i just thought it was funny that the wishlist someone made is almost identical to the computer i'm currently building. Since this will be the first computer i've built from scratch, and with my own money no less, it's good to see i haven't ****ed up yet by buying the wrong stuff. (I did buy generic ram tho, so i hope that doesnt' screw me, but it had a warantee so it couldn't be that bad right???? )

lol i know how it fills my work sucks...I have to move 10-100 pounds boxes all day, and most of the time its upstairs.
and i normally come home to tired to play, so i sleep for like 12 hours..and work for 12 hours D:: but im getting laid off in nov sometime Right after i have enough for my computer =D so it all works

and yes when i was hired they told me i would be laid off in nov so no biggie to me

Also just realized...if i do wait for my new comp instead of just jumping in from this one...Most of the bugs from the US will be fixed (i mean like account setups, and stupid things like that, that....there will always be bugs)

If you have they money why don't you buy yourself a personal supercomputer. Most of them are ripoff's but the cheapest one seems to be a good deal to me.

i built mine on Newegg..only problem was..i realized from other boards, i dont know Sh t about making computer..the power supplies blew my mind..So i need to find somewhere here that can install it for me



Holy .....Mother of Jebis......I WANT A SUPER COMPUTER D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D: i want the freakin monitor
it would take up my whole desk but man that would kick so much assssss....i would have to work for a whole year to get just the monitor...the computers are at a ok price..kinda expensive tho, when i can make almost the same for around 1k (compared to there 4k)

I know how you feel. I'm currently in school getting my degree in computer and information technology, and I feel like I've only scratched the surface.

Every six months, a new wave of bigger, better, faster computer hardware comes out, and it's almost pointless keeping up with it all.

Most of what you can do is trail & error. I know from personal experience that I will never get a pny video card, but that's another story.

That supercomputer is niiiiice, but then again, my hobby is 3-d animation, so that system with a $1000 video card is what I'm going to school for
