Is this good for FFXI and any other MMO games

will i be able to play FFxi well?

if you haven't bought the comp yet, i sugget you upgrade to 512mb ram, 80 gig hdd, and the 9700/9800. that will be able to last you another few years. the fx you think of is crappy in all reveiws, the 256mb ram will be down to 180mb ram after windows xp takes over (i found a site to modify the settings, so i use 20-40mb ram only on windows xp), and 40 gigs will be down to 34 gigs after dell gives you it's useless programs, and down to 28gigs after FFXI.

get a 16x dvd rom drive and a 4x4x12 dvd+rw+r+ 12x12x48 cd-r drive for the best results.

Those specifications are fine. There really is no need to upgrade your system. It really depends on how you want to have it.
FFXI has not been released yet so I can only go by the benchmark.
I don't suggest upgrading. I have a FX5200 and I have no complaints. But if you do have a lot of extra money you could buy a higher graphics card and whatever Doppelganger said. However, in the benchmark it would not add 3000 points to your score. Maybe 1000 more points on the benchmark.

All in all, it will run fine and dandy as you are.

i check how much all of the up grade cost it come close to 2000 so i'am going to go with Mr_Cloud and keep what i got but thanks Doppelganger and Mr_Cloud

his system=2000-3000 depending on config (xp takes up 20-150mb depedning on the instalation, dell's install is about 60), add my upgrades, and his score will be 4800+

it's not 2000 to upgrade that, if it was, i would tell this guy not to get dell. the upgrades are +150 for 9800pro+60 for 80gig+150 for ram (that ram is worth only 100 at most though, buy it by yourself for cheapest price)
360 is not equal to 2000
the 16xdvd is +30, and the dvdburner is 150, so total including optionals is 540 extra maximum though dell. get these from another source and it's 500 at most.

that page gives a config worth 1600, and i comes with 512mb ram, 2.6gh ht p4, and gf4 mx 440 video card. it's only 130 to upgrade to 9800, and you can flash it to pro using aerobahns post.
