    computers are actually getting more expensive... my comp was top of the line, but the max i could have gotten was 5000 including all the extra junk (that junk cost 500 and completly useless). now the top model is 5600 with only mcafee, windows pro, and office pro.

    the price of independant products i believe has remained the same, if not dropped though.
