Okay, I'm planning to buy a video card this month and I have a budget... a tight one. I was looking at two video cards that might be compatable with FFXI:

PNY Verto™ GeForce4 MX440 8X 64MB AGP Video Card : $99 w/ $30 rebate

ATI Radeon™ 9000 64MB AGP Video Card $80.00

Also, I run a Pentium 4, 2.53 GHz, good running machine and I run the resolution on 1024x768. (or something like that ^.^;

Information on the two will be GREATLY appreciated.

Also... Can someone give me a website where they sell those PS2 controller adapters for the computer? I cant get it from Ebay because of personal reasons... Thanks in advance!

I am currently playing ffxi. I have the geforce4 Mx440 video card, and it runs pretty smooth for me.

i got 3000 on my benchmark, and my pcs stats are as shown:

Athlon XP Processor (1.5 GHz)
256 Mg of ram
Geforce4 MX440 (64 Mb)

Between the two, I'd get the radeon 9000 since it handles bumpmapping. Geforce 4 mx cards can't.

i have the same processor on an intel 450 motherboard (only one that handels rd ram, my ram goes at 800mh and transmits 6.4gb/s) i use the nvidia gf4 ti 4200 64mb. it's about $120, but it beats the crap out of the 9000 (unless it's been modified to 9700 with software, but it still doesn't come to ti 4200 standards). as long as you have 512mb ram or more, any of the three cards will do good (ti 4200+2.53 p4+ 512 rd800 ram= 5100 on bench).

edit: the 8x agp one i believe is at 150, and i believe that it is the 128mb version

I decided to get the Nvidia GF4 Ti 4200 64MB card but where can I buy one? Is there a reliable site which has them? ((Oh and that delivers fast... like within 3 weeks.))

Ahhh! I just got a flyer from Circuit city saying they have a Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB Video Card for $170! Is it worth it to go the disctance or just play it cheap?

Ugh! I went to Circut City and they DIDN'T have 9600 pro in stock and it was $200! Anyway I saw a

all those cards arent at all good. Buy from here www.newegg.com they are hassle free, got a problem they will take it back no questions asked, plus its alot cheeper.

the 7500 is archaic and i don't even know if it will run. the 5200 is compared to a suped up gf3 ti500, so it blows. the 9000 all in wonder has tv input, but not a lot of processing power. stick to 9500-9800 or the gfx 5600-5900 and ti 4200-4800 for ffxi only.
