Is this laptop gonna work for FFXI?

I actually didnt get it yet, but the only reason why im getting it is cause i wanna play FFXI and i dunno if it will run on this lap top. its called the 'Dell inspiron 8500' and can u jus guess of a benchmark score that u think its gonan get when i test it? oh heres the link of the laptop if u wanan know the specs. thanx a bunch www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/products/model_inspn_inspn_8500.htm

The link to the laptop specs are sorta not working at the moment, but in my honest opinion, the money you would use for the laptop could get you a much more decent desktop system.

Besides, laptops were never really good gaming machines and this isn't an opinion, it's a fact.

But yeah, if you want to buy a whole new rig to play FFXI, just buy a desktop with a geforce 4 or fx card.

Right now my current set up is:

Processor: Athlon xp 2800 barton
Graphics card: Radeon 9800 Pro 128 mb
Ram: 1028 ddr pc2700 ram
Chipset: Nforce 2 chipset

with this set up I score a constant 6473 on the ffxi benchmark test.

My rig cost me $900 to put together. But I got some of the stuff in a shady fashion (that's just between you and me.)

So if you really want a good system instead of buying a factory made system, you can just buy the parts seperately so every single piece of the computer will be of your choosing, which makes the system overall better and more personal.

well i will there are cheap custum lap tops thatthat can be made for one game so you could go to the site or a store and give them the minnimum of final fantasy 11 and you can get a sattel lite link that can go online useing a satetaylite so if your in a car or a plane you can play.

Well when i said i wanted the laptop jus for ffxi i didnt really mean that i meant a laptop that was compatible wit hthe game, and also i need all that space cause i also need programs for homework and i also use the internet like crazy so its not really jus the game that im getting for...

but i hate assembling different parts together, im not that much of a computer wizz, and beside i think it will look ugly if u mix all types of system parts together, jus my opinion...and i already have a desktop system but it sux like shit and my parents dont want me getting another one...i know its weird but i dunno y...hehe

O, it's a parent thing. I understand your dilemma now. Well, if you really want to run FFXI at it's full power on a laptop, you're going to be paying a pretty penny, because the smaller a powerful gaming compnent gets, the more expensive it becomes.

Honestly, I don't really see what your parents can do to you if you do upgrade your desktop. I mean, it is YOUR computer; are they going to punish you for upgrading YOUR computer with YOUR money?

i never said that they would punish me, its jus that....BLAH! ughh i dunno...my computer should be able to run ffxi but it cant and if my dad finds out that he paid 2000 somehting dollars for it and it cant even run the game, he will think i didi somethign to the comp....

Excuse my french, but from the sounds of it, your dad is a bitch that needs to be slapped.

If your dad is remotely up to date with the real world, he'll understand that the whole pc world is a constant improving entity, that advances so much that even a suped up computer of today will feel it in the ass tomorrow.
