EVA (Pai Pai) questions

AAlright I am not a huge anime guru and that shouldnt be hard to figure out but I was checkin around for some popular Animes like months sgo and i noticed that many ppl liked neo genesis evangelion? so i Kazaa'd up and nothing, nothing and more nothing. :confused:

anyway bout a week ago after totally forgetting about the show (been busy playin Xenosaga ) i realized that i had SPELLED IT WRONG, evanglion - sooo i fixed my mistake downloaded all 26 episodes and pretty much watched them non-stop.

Very good time, but i have a few questions.

1. They said that Second Impact was caused by an angel *fusing* ar something with ADAM and that third impact would happen if another angel came into contact with *him*. but later it was revealed that that too was not REALLY what had happened. so... WHAT HAPPENED!? (to cause 2nd impact)

2. OK dumb question? I have NEVER heard ANYTHING about a FIRST impact!!? always second second second - was a 1st even ever mentioned?

3.STEELE? y did they want the last angel/5th child to go down to the bottom of that geo front? what were they gaining?

4.Did Rei die several times or was that my imagination?

1. When the Katsuragi team met with Adam in the North Pole to commit Second Impact, the only way to minimize the damage was to "constrain" it by converting it into a chrysalis form. I'm not sure if it's fully explained, but I believe Second Impact was caused simply by Adam unleashing his power in a brutal attack. (If I'm wrong, please correct me.)

Lillith, the second angel (the demon wife of Adam), lies sleeping crucified in Central Dogma underneath NERV headquarters. (In the anime. In the manga series, it is Adam who is crucified.) If an Angel comes into contact with Lillith (I'll just say Lillith to make it easier), she will awaken, thus causing Third Impact.

2. Some scholars say that First Impact was either the Big Bang, or the meteor strike which killed the dinosaurs.

3. SEELE's goal is to cause Third Impact, thus using Instrumentality to bring all beings together as one, thus erasing fear and loneliness. Gendou's plan is to usurp SEELE's authority and decieve them in the end, to use Instrumentality to become a God (from the vessel of Rei's body), and meet with Yui again. Kinda sweet, eh? :p

4. Rei died two times in Evangelion. The first time, Naoko Akagi murdered her, then committed suicide. The second time, Ayanami killed herself to rescue Shinji from Armisael, the 16th angel.

Again, I'm probably wrong on some things. It's been a while since I watched through Evangelion, dunno why. I guess I will once I get the Renewal box set.

wow, pai pai master you really know your evagalion, you're not a master for nothing right. But can you anwser me this, what are the eva's really, how is it that they can be manufactured by the dozens, aren't they like angels themself. Is kinda bugging me for a while.

Evas are a combo of things:

1) Backwards engineered genetics/technology of Angels (whom are, as stated in the series, alternate lifeforms that could have inhabited earth if humans weren't the dominate species).
2) The conscienceness of ppl whom are close to their pilots. i.e. Shinji's mother in 01. Asuka's mother in 02 (this makes more sense close to the end of the movie just before Asuka starts to kick ass). Shinji's friend's (forgot his name) hospitalized sister (that makes sense?) in the Eva which became an Angel. Naoko Akagi (the one whom killed Rei and herself) in 00 (which is why it tends to go out of control a lot because she hated Rei in the first place).

It's not easy to make Evas. But they were researching ways to mass produce them.

In a more simplified answer, the EVAs are clones of Adam. EVA-01, however, is a clone of Lillith.

WOW ! Just saw The End of Evangelion for the 1st time.. and im speachless.. Afterwords i checked online for sum answers and i got most of them but heres the thing..

WTF is Rei? I mean how was she able to become lilith and do all that crazyness in EOE? and where has adam been throughout the series?

Why did the mysterious thing form from Second impact look just like EVA-01? Wasnt that Adam? If Eva-01 is a clone of lilith, y it look like adam?

It's hard to explain exactly what Rei is. It's not made as clear as we all want it to be. I think it goes this way...

We all know that Rei is not human. Her body is simply a vessel for holding the soul of Lillith, and it is the product of the failed attempt to rescue Yui Ikari from being absorbed by Eva Unit 01. However, over the time she spent living with humans, and especially the time she spent with Shinji (it's much more obvious in the manga.), she becomes more human in the sense that she feels compassion for nearly all people, especially Shinji and Gendo. However, by seeing Shinji's suffering and seeing how humans react to pain and loneliness, she realized that Shinji needed her more than Gendo did, with his selfish desire to risk mankind to be with Yui.

In the very end of EoE, there is a very important scene which depicts Shinji and Rei becoming one, it looks like they're making love. By what they speak about, you see that Shinji, despite Rei's warnings, wants to be separate from all other beings. It's one of my favourite parts of the movie. The way they're able to separate and hold hands is quite beautiful. (sniff ) This of course, means that all living beings will live separately, as they did before. Of course, there are certain people who weren't taken in by Instrumentality, like Kaji and Touji (in the manga, Touji is killed by Unit-01 and Shinji. I'm not sure when he dies in the anime though...)

Your third question is a good one...has me stumped. All I know is that the Katsuragi Team began Second Impact by using Adam. Essentially, most of the Evas look the same. It's only their restricting armour that makes them look different. My guess is that Unit-01 also resembles Adam even though it is a clone of Lillith.

i beleive that in EoE, they explain that the second inpact was created just to weaken adam, the controler of the at field. seele needed to weaken it in order to have lillith create the third impact, which in EoE happens, so they could meld all humans into one formless bieng. lillith used an anti-at field to do that, which adam in a full power state would cancle out by his at field. as for where adam was the entire series, in the episode they introduce asuka(my fav episode and char), adam is being transported from gremany to japan via ship/plane. after that, shinji's father implanted the adam embryo into his hand, slightly gross but that's where it was..... don't what to think where that hand has been though..... in EoE, Rei becomes simisolid for a while, he puts his hands THROUGH her breasts, then she becomes solid and rips his and out, then she joins with lillth, yada yada yada....

i think i am getting this right, but if i am mistaken, tell me.

Lol funniest part i think, Shinji becomes a man, beggining of EoE, you know what i mean with asuka... oh and what happens in the end? it just kind of leaves off with shinji strangling asuka and her stopping him and saids "the end"?? they need an OVA, still very excellent anime. I dont quite understand it even after watching the series again but it will always be up in the charts in my books.
