  • Eureka Seven AO - The Ending

    Just got around to watching episodes 23 & 24...

    I dunno, they probably should have left well enough alone. I already made a long post about this on my FB page, so to summarize;

    - Sucks to be Ao
    - Sucks pretty hard for Renton & Eureka too
    - WTF Dewey Novak was RIGHT?!
    - It all made sense in the end, trying up the loose ends/questions the original ending left but was a pretty long and convoluted journey.

    They've left it open for a possible 3rd series but... I'm betting they'll leave it alone rather than try and rehash it all again. E7:AO did horribly in Japan, which is a shame, and apart from maybe some kind of cute little OVA to explain some final details like they released in Sept. for the original series (episode 51 effectively) I just don't see the point.

    AO and the "new" Star Trek. Two things I can most definitely live without.

      The ending leaves little to be desired of. I'm really disappointed but at the same time I'm not really disappointed. Because I expected it. Which is sad. I expected the ending to be horribly rushed back in episode 5 (or was it 6) when Truth popped out and then I was like, okay, whoah, Bones fucking this up big time again.

        Yeah the moment he appeared I was like "Oh lord here we go again with the mind trip" and it ended up being... well, dumb. At least they had a solid explanation for the Coralians that was pretty cool. With Truth it took forever to figure out just what he was, and didn't figure out what his deal was until episode 23!

        And now we have no idea just wth is gonna happen with him or Ao. Never explained why Renton's hair is partly white either lol. I just felt kinda shitty at the end there, as I was sorta hoping they'd show Ao's older sis and they could finally sort crap out, go back to 10k in the future but no, total time paradox/dick move.

        Some of that I still couldn't quite follow (and I'm normally good at this thanks to MGS lol) but why the hell exactly did the Secrets appear in their world after the Coralians left? And Ao finally showed up in their world at the end as evidenced by the moon, but in 2027?! How the FUCK then are Renton & Eureka's names carved into the moon?! It's a good 8000+ years too soon!

          Time Paradox shows are never good and are a cover for just bad story writing. You know, they can hide behind the guise of time inconsistencies and not be labeled as a "troll". Like Kishimoto gets accused of trolling or "You got Aizened" when he pulls out shit out of thin air in Naruto.

            Yeah I gotta admit some of that's starting to get annoying (I don't follow the manga but I've seen a couple of spoilers I was curious about, mostly with regards to Madara)
