    Re: Fall 2012/Winter 2012-2013

I feel like Robotic's Notes is getting a bit more interesting with the small reveal of some back story ^ ^

I know this is off topic, but has anyone checked out Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (I think some abbreviated as AnoHana)? Its kinda of an old series though, I think it was released in 2011 but a friend recommended to me and I think it deserves a bit more attention. I totally missed it in 2011 ^ ^

Yep, already watched it. I liked it.

Although it kinda reminded me of my only anime weakness, Air. To this day I haven't been able to watch that series again, even the theme song is enough to get me all tear eyed. orz

      Edit > ...

Correction, even thinking about the theme song is enough to get me tear eyed...

Actually, I already anticipated that this was going to be something dark, something macabre, something really, really deeply disturbing. Reminds me of "Another", a series by Kyoto Animation, that kind of went over and beyond what horror anime tend to be. The message seems to be, TL;DR, don't mess with life and play a God, cause you're going to screw things up. As someone once said in a movie, I'm paraphasing, "you were so focused on if you could do it that you didn't stop to ask yourself if you should do it".

As for AnoHana, it was depressing, but really well done. Not something you could watch repeatedly, though, unless you're into that sort of thing. It was especially poignant for me as this was during the time my father-in-law was hospitalized due to an illness and passed away a few weeks later, leaving my wife besides herself in heavy grief.

Psycho Pass has gotten quite dark and disturbing as well. Although I already knew that to be the case from the first episode

K has slowed down quite a bit and the exposition has been slow and at times painful. The focus seems to be quite heavy on character relationships and at times it leaves the story as a "minor" backdrop. I hope they can keep their eyes on the prize or else they will end up with a "potentially good but an utter failure" on their hands.

Robotics;Notes has renewed my interests in robotics. Dabbled a bit back in college while concurrently taking those EE courses.

Well, it wasn't the darkness from Shin Sekai Yori but some of the animations we're a bit . .weird? like what was up with that creepy smile that saki had when she was running away and Satoru picked her up?

Remember, they've been re-educated and "sterilized" from birth. I think the key points in the scenes are showing you that they are slowly returning to their "humanity". Saki had those internal monologues about "regressing" after what they've learned from that "librarian".

Another endearing series: Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo.

Wow, I don't know why but I'm really getting into these sports anime. First it was Kuroko no Basket and now Giant Killing. Anyone else know of something similiar?

I stay away from sports anime. It's just not my thing.

Psycho Pass is awesome ... really is filling in that "Ghost in the Shell" void. It's like a good old fashion cop show ... the ones I used to watch as a kid.

Yea, I kinda like the twist they pulled at the end of last episode. I mean for some reason I didn't figure it out even though i suppose it was pretty obvious from the start.

Well, maybe not the young kid, although I'm sure they kept him due to some special skills or abilities and he was too valuable.

Been lurking lately, but had to post to say that I'm Really enjoying SAO, I started reading the Light Novels this week after being fully caught up in the show so far. I don't want to get further in the Light Novel though than the show currently is, just because I'm excited to watch it first then see how the LN has it, so /waiting.

                          Yay, Ty for this Eohmer~

Yepp, there's a lot to catch up on, as some of the series are moving into their "climax" (as the 11/12/13 episode season of those respective series have progressed 2/3 of the way in)
