Yeah, the ending of Rin wasn't as great as everything that led up to it, but I guess that's somewhat to be expected with a manga adaptation with a handful of episodes.
The nice thing is that there's so many years they hopped over they could always revisit and do a different story line
Netflix added Bleach, Naruto season 1 and 2 and Inuyasha last week. Dunno if I'll watch em. Watched one episode of Bleach, shrugged, and went back to Trigun and rewatching Rin.

You're not missing much. It's mostly filler.

That's because that's when they ran out of manga to work off of so they had years upon years of filler arcs.
Even the non-filler content dropped in quality, imo. After a certain point character development stops completely and the whole show becomes about getting generically more powerful because the generic threat keeps gaining levels.
Compare for example Ichigo's training to learn "resolve" before entering Soul Society with his training to master his Vizard powers. By all rights the later battle should have been more epic. They'd been building this tension between Ichigo and his Hollow self for what, five seasons at that point? But by that point all the soul had gone out of the storytelling and they basically let Ichigo just decide he would win and left it at that. The training with Uruhara didn't even involve getting any new abilities; it was all about confronting his own character and motives and strengthening his force of will. That fight you could manage to give a damn about.
I like fan service as much or probably a little more than the next guy, but the sheer number of underage ass and crotch shots flying at my face are already making me uneasy and I've barely started the first episode.
Go watch Freezing. It's blatant fan service without being called porn.

You need to watch the portion of the arc where Ichigo fights Ulquiorra.
At the end of the Save Orihime arc or after that? The one I have in mind didn't impress me. The fight in Hueco Mundo with Grimmjow was pretty good. I'll give credit for that one but those fights are still pretty few and far between.

Ichigo is like jell-o, he just changes consistency depending on the room's temperature. That makes him boring to watch except for the few times he actually gets his act together.

I mean the quality of the action (since that's what I thought you guys were talking about) The story is in the manga so if you want to just read it then it's online everywhere. Incidentally, the fights with Ulquiorra coincided with Naruto's fight with Pain and you can tell where Pierrot biasness lay.
Sket Dance is pretty good but the rest of the line ups are your usual moe fan service summer fare. I'm gonna just stick to watching Gosick and a handful of others until mid-summer when we can actually have some decent anime (what's up with the color and quality of these shows ... you can obviously tell which were produced in China)
Another interesting one is Deadman Wonderland. It's about a private prison used as a tourist attraction. The whole premise is that corrupt politicians, a rigged judicial process and a corporation use the legal system to "catch" people accused of crimes in order to profit from them.
It's interesting in that it's a debate that's currently ongoing in many states here in the U.S. regarding prison abuse and rights of prisoners (i.e., using them as "slaves" so private companies can profit from them)
High School of the Dead was added to Netflix this week.
Man, what a waste of gainaxeing and panty shots, all the women seen to die horribly, but the men just get bit and start goign all zombie on people. Oh well, at least it all seems like a crisis.
Also, its it really physically possible for someone to rest her head on her own breasts so she can sleep through class? I don't think it is no matter how fat or well-endowed a girl could be.
