I was wondering if anyone had watched/read all of the shoujo manga Ichigo 100%. Its about a guy named Manaka Junpei and his troubles with girls. :3 I'd really like to find a person who has read it so I have someone to talk to.

      Re: Ichigo 100%

I've read the manga.. never got around to watching all of the anime version however. I personally thought it was so/so I jumped into reading it since it is a Mizuki Kawashita work love all her previous stories. It is also a shonen manga not shoujo it was printed in Weekly Shonen Jump originally starting in Feb. of 2002 =). Being a fan of Kawashita's work absolutely love the char and overall design. The story was cute and far more interesting than most of the other manga that falls into that genre.

        Re: Ichigo 100%

Personally I think Ichigo 100% is a Shoujo manga (Which translated literally, means, Manga for Girls) Despite where it appeared, the plotline follows that of many other Shoujo manga (I'll use Lova Hina as an example, since Ken Akamatsu is teh greatness.)

Guy has experience with girl, falls in love with said girl.
Guy in turn meets tons of other girls, all of which adore him.
Guy has trouble picking girl, leads to emotional tension.
In the end, Guy picks girl, and sexeh things ensue.

Personally, I think the end of Ichigo 100% is a letdown, because
        Spoilers

My personal favorite character is Kozue-chan. Her character is so well thought out. ^^

I agree with ya completely there love Kozue.

As far as the classification I think pretty much everything Kawashita has done could be considered Shoujo however the story telling conventions she uses is primarily associated with Shonen manga and as such she is often mistaken as a male mangaka even in the japanese circles and is primarily published by Shonen weekly/monthly and other shonen manga related publishers.

I also import my manga in Japanese I never bother reading the english "reversioned" garbage or whatever term it is now they tend to use these days for that crap.

I also tend to read a lot more of shoujo manga despite being male simply out of the fact most shoujo manga has far more substance story wise then eye-candy intended for the younger folks.

I like reading Shoujo manga because it has alot more plot twists, that keep the reader enthralled. Shonen manga isnt bad from time to time, but it gets old unless you find a really good one. (HunterXHunter comes to mind) I've been in a slump lately because of the ending of Ichigo 100%... Another anime I've been watching called Shuffle!.. I finished all of it and I've been sad about its ending too.
