Looking for anime suggestions

These are anime series that I loved watching (still watching minami-ke), because of their random hilarity (Ok Haruhi wasnt so random but still hilarious most of the time).

I'd like some suggestions on other series of the same kind, please.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann is pretty over the top. Makes me laugh almost every episode.

And I really have to recommend Gunbuster (a.k.a. Top wo Nerae!/Aim for the Top!) and Diebuster (in that order) simply because they're the best anime series I've ever seen.

Edit: Oh, if you liked Lucky Star you'll probably enjoy Azumanga Daioh.

I think you might enjoy Bamboo Blade.

Another one might be CLANNAD. It's much less focused on comedy but it does have a few hilarious moments. It's also made by Kyoto Animation so the general quality level is through the roof.

I'd like to congratulate you on discovering Minami-ke, though. It's absolutely brilliant, yet relatively unknown.

Love Hina & Azumanga as people already said are always great for a laugh
if you like Love Hina, Akamatsu's other work Negima is ridiculous-kind of like Love Hina meets Harry Potter
I was enjoying xxxholic with tsubasa and how they intertwined, but haven't had extra cash for manga in ages
athough this is an anime thread anyway i guess

I had gotten a dvd in Newtype for Maburaho (iirc, it's @ home and I'm at school atm), which was about some nerdy kid who went to magic school and sucked at it, but had amazing magical genes, so all these female witches wanted to go at it with him to have really powerful offspring. the pilot was good, but I never got around to finding more of it, look for that-it was definatly silly

Just watched the first episode of Engen Toppan Gurren Lagann, while its not the sort of thing i was looking for, I liked it alot

You've hit about all mine.

Cowboy Bebop has pretty good humour if you haven't seen that yet, although it's nothing like Azumanga/Lucky Star, I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed the first few episodes of Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, but only ever saw teh first 6 due to translation time and losing interest. Wonderful humour once you get into it.

Oh yes, how could I forget SZS!? Lots of quality black humour in that one.

If you're willing to check out some older material (as in not aired in 2007), I'd also suggest Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu and Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid. Fumoffu is basically a 100% comedy spin-off of the main series and The Second Raid is the second season of the main series.

The first season was mediocre at best but the second one is brilliant in every way and the comedy in it does not disappoint. Unlike the first season, both Fumoffu and TSR were made by KyoAni, which explains their superiority.

Oh and then there is Black Lagoon and it's follow up, The Second Barrage. It's completely over the top action-comedy. Think of Die Hard on mega crack. The second season is somewhat (ok, a lot) darker and more violent, but I didn't have a problem with that and actually ended up enjoying it more than the first one.

If you think aiming your speed boat at a sunken tanker and using it as a ramp to jump into the air, then firing a big ass torpedo into a combat helicopter while mid-air sounds sweet, Black Lagoon is for you. :D

My sort of thing is more like a schoolgirl who has an electric extensible arm that she uses on another schoolgirl sending an electric burst through her body, this event gives birth to a mushroom on the top of said schoolgirl, said mushroom then takes control over the schoolgirl's body and plans to take over the world by absorbing sunlight, when enough sunlight is absorbed he will send out enough spores to control all of manking but all of a sudden an alien ship is trying to stop the evil mushroom but they cant fire a huge laser beam at the schoolgirl who has a mushroom on her head or they'll kill her so they just wait and see what happens. Meanwhile the teacher who is 11 years old grabs the other schoolgirl's electric extensible arm to rip the mushroom off the other schoolgirl's head, then the aliens fire their beam and the mushroom explodes and dies.

Stuff that makes sense, basically.
