The military would never use giant robots. They would cost far too much and do far too little. They would be gigantic targets for every kid and his mother who owns an RPG.

If they were on the sheer scale of the Multi-Legged Platform Weapons like in Appleseed, they'd annhilate any target with extreme prejudice. I mean, just on sheer intimidation alone you'd coerce smaller countries to surrender w/o a fight. If they do resist, just one round from the rail gun would be more than enough "show of force" to deal with it.
