    FFxi Inspiration: Dot hack (Eye of the Twilight)

    Hi all...

    I was just thinking about the 5 yr aniversery of FFxi and thought of the thing that first brought me to FFxi.

    The short of it is..

    I was watching the anime sieres "Dot Hack" and fell in love with the concept of online games. Now i know that dot hack is based off a VR online game that is alittle out there. But still the concept intrigued me.


    I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has felt or feels the same.


    >>PS.. I relize that this anime is kinda old, but still very good.

    To those who have not seen it. You should try to watch at least an episode.

      I am at work right now, but as soon as i get home, I will check that out.

      Is Mimi-ryu in the other series?

        Yes, she is. She's one of the main characters in the series.

          I guess the question i was going for on this thread was ... is there any of you guys that share the same kinda story?

          Are there peeps out there that were inspired to play FFxi, from an anime or Video game? If so what was it and how did it inspire you?

            I think it's safe to say that most FFXI players started playing because it's a Final Fantasy game and they were fans of the series.
            I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

              Yeah , I know that most people were ff fans before they played FFxi. But I was wondering if there were others that got turned on to playing an online game from an anime series or maybe a movie. Something other than just being a FF fan.

              Don't get me wrong, i have played almost every FF game in the past and was a uber ff fan before I ever played ffxi. But it was Dot hack that sparked my intrest in Online RPGs.

                Ironically it's playing through .Hack //G.U. that's kinda put me off playing FFXI altogether.
