New Liscences...GOOD NEWS! ^_^

[Pai Pai Master]

At the Boston Anime Weekend, some new liscences were announced....

-Synch Point announced its acquisition of the DiGi Charat Movie, in addition to "Leave it to Piyoko!"
-Bandai announced a liscence for Witch Hunter Robin.
-Pioneer liscenced Maharomatic: Something More Beautiful, Macross Zero and Haibane Renmei.
-ADV announced liscences for Abenobashi Magical Shopping District, Azumanga Daioh, Final Fantasy Unlimited, and Renewal of Evangelion.

Macross Zero was kind of a no brainer, but I'm very pleased that Pioneer picked up Haibane Renmei. They picked up Abe's Niea Under 7 a bit after it came out, and I'm glad they picked this one up, too.

Renewal of eva... surprised they're brining it over here at all. From what I understand, it's just a rerelease of eva? Don't really see the point of that over here, but maybe that's just me.

Pioneer's been good with Abe's releases since the success of Lain. I'm glad ^_^

Correction: ADV announced a liscence for the "Evangelion Director's Cut". I dunno if this means the entire Renewal of Evangelion series (which isn't just a rerelease, but completely remastered animation, which is turning out to look movie quality! ) , or just the 4 Director's Cut Episodes with about 20 minutes of extra footage.


EDIT: The "Director's Cut" version announced is simply a 2 DVD Set featuring the TV versions and Re-edited versions of Episodes 21-24. Although this isn't a great thing, the previously unreleased episodes feature some scenes important to the quite confusing conclusion of the TV series. Bah, I shoulda known that we'd never get Renewal of Evangelion here. Guess it's back to the importing plan. :sweat:

I miss Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai . If you haven't seen it yet, you should see it immediately. And, once again, if you haven't seen Now and Then, Here and There, you should see it immediately...even though that has nothing to do with this topic.

This is good news. I really didn't want to have to Import Eva Renwal but I would have if I had to, heh. I'm not really interested in FF:U though, from the reviews I've heard it isn't too great; but I will leave my final judgement up to when I actually see it. Mahoromatic scares me though -_-;
