  • Catch up on Bleach?

I read in the vgcats newspost today that Bleach finally ended it's filler arc. This makes me very happy since Vizards and Arrancar and Ichigo's hollow are about the most interesting things in the series right now, imo.

What I'm wondering is, I stopped watching after the Baura vs Mayuri fight; is there anything terribly compelling that happens between that ep and the arc ending? The bounts weren't terribly compelling characters with the possible exception of the big guy with the headphones, and the other people didn't really get any interesting character development so far as I can tell, other than getting to spend some fun time with Matsumoto.

Soo ... should I actually catch up or can I just start watching with the current ep?

I'm freaking happy +10 that stupid filler ended.

I was just watching Bleach out of habit more than anything, but the moment the filler ended it returned to being Bleach so it's ok now.

(Although I still think the first episodes with that Asterisk opening were the best by far )

Edit> Just go from the time Ichigo went back after saving Rukia to the next episode after the filler ended and you wont notice a thing.

Even more, it will be way more enjoyable that way.

no, you can just start from 110. they don't really refer back to anything in the bount arc (so far) except for rin-rin and crew, but if you've seen the first few episodes of the bount arc, you'll know who they are.

      Thanks Yyg!

But the manga current story isn't going very far after saving Rukia, I wonder when would the anime catch up with the manga again (maybe another filter soon v_v.. )

Find some subbed versions on the internet.
              Crunchyroll.com is great.
I found out Adult Swim will start showing "new" eps of Bleach after they get through with Death Note. Funimation fell behind on the dubbing and now they're having to play catchup.

And when you're catching up on the subbed version. Feel free to skip the bount stuff after the first 5-10 episodes. There's one ep in the current arc with Kariya, but if you just know it was a guy Ichigo fought, then you're fine. Bount arc was quite boring. I can't decide if it was just not as well written, or if it was because I knew in the end nothing was going to change.

Question about how the manga and anime works: Is the manga like way far ahead of the anime storyline-wise, or does the writer for the manga tell the anime people whats going to happen so that they can stay reasonably close?
If its the first, then holy crap, we're way behind in the states. All they have out here is up to the Bount arc (63 I believe).

Anyway, I've been watching bleach non stop for the last week to get caught up. I'll watch the last six tonight, including the one that airs today and I'll be all caught up. A little over 80 episodes in one week...holy cow I need a life.

                Re: Catch up on Bleach?

Manga is drawn literally week to week in most cases so an anime has to just do what they can. Manga artists often collaborate with the anime producers, perhaps contribute ideas or character designs for filler but in general anime just plays catch up and know as much as we do.
