Robotech!

Not sure how many of you are old enough to remember the original cartoons, but this series, and the original Transformers and GI Joe, are one of my fondest memories during childhood. The fact that they are making a new movie, pleases me to no end.

What? No love for Voltron? I barely remember Robotech I do remember getting one of the Veritechs when I was younger. Btw did you ever play the Robotech game on PS2(I think)?

Yup I remember the old catoons, Transformers, Gobots, He-man (original) Thundercats, Dungeons & Dragons, Pole Position (Love the tune to it ) care bears (when i was 8 my then GF loved it, happy memories watching it with my first love (ok go for the big aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa )

I played the game for ps2, it's not too bad, I bought the collector's edition. I enjoyed the game of course.

However, I do not like the american voice actors, I wish I could watch the japanese version of the series.

Same with Metal Gear Solid 2. I played the demo of it in Japanese, and liked the voices far better than the American version of the game. I had to get use to listening to the english version again after playing the Japanese demo.

Love Robotech to this day , Was one of the Best Anime's ever. I like even better than Macross, Cuz they took 3 unrelated shows and made them cohesive, Pure genius. Sentinels had potential which was only seen in comic form, They blew it with the Tv show.

i cant count the number of times ive watched all 84 episodes on robotech. i need to dig out my vhs tapes!

it looks like they are pick up where they left off in the new generation. i hope they go through with this. unlike their half assed sequel (sentinels) that lost funding after episode 1.

i think macross/robotech is just one of the awesomest series ever. i like to call it, the starwars of anime.

You mean Macross? There's several different versions of it out there, including a new release by ADV.


I liked Robotech when it aired way back when. I've been considering getting the dvds but haven't decided yet.

The 80's was seriously the Best time for cartoons and import anime..
Only thing is in the 80's our cartoon companies made anime seem liek their idea ^^..jerks.

lol i wasnt even alive when this was on and yet i know of almost all the shows u speak, i was turned on to robotech when i was 6 in 1994 i got whole series on VHS its just best show ever in anime. Especially macross hot damned good show. Gigantor in 40's let to astro boy in 60's let to voltron in 84 which led to robotech which led to robotech in 85 which lead to akira in 88 i believe, which basically brought anime to usa, now there are too many animes to count from Inuyasha to Trigun

Mark Hamill doing one of the voices. Thought that was funny. That's nearly all he's been doing for the last 10-15 years. Voiced Hobgoblin and the Joker in the Spiderman and Batman cartoons respectively. (little known fact, or largely known depending on who you are.)
I remember watching one of the robotech series on Toonami back when Cartoon network first started. Didn't have a clue what was going on...ever...but I thought it was pretty cool all the same. Wasn't until a year or two ago that I found out it was three random anime's that they dubbed into one prolonged series. Like Archemedes I've debated getting the series on DVD myself.

Robotech.... Macross(jp ver.)... I luv them both dearly.... This was my first anime lol

Only problem i have with robotech is that it's 3 different animes, that were completely rearanged and endited to make the english show. Still luv it though.

they really need to stop re-re-re-releasing robotech. they need to have 1 definitive, ultra perfect collection.

i hear the adv releases are missing scenes. theres so many different perfect collections out there. i just want them to settle on something and put it all out on a nice dvd brick set.

btw, for all you macross/robotech fans out there, whats your favorite character and mech?
im a big fan of misa hayase/lisa hayes for some reason and other than roy's valkyrie, i like the Monster. the big gerwalk looking thing with 4 large cannons on its back and cannons for arms. it usually sits semi-stationary on the sdf while firing.

/em beats the fan boy again.
sorry, robotech/macross stuff gets me excited at work.
