    Manga about FFXI o.O N.H.K.

    My friend sent me a few chapters I'm not sure where he got it from.

    The main character has a mental illness called hiki komori in japanese. I don't know what it's called in english but it makes the person afraid of people and avoid socializing. A lot of things happenned until a young boy introduced the main character to an online game...

    Just for some example.

          If it's a dojin, it's pretty long. The images are from chapter 11. I have chapter 10-12 right now.

            agoraphobia is the fear of public spaces and crowding. Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is probably the more correct english equivalent for "hiki komori".

                No NHK is manga about SAD.

                Every chapter they try to play on a different spoof of certain generalized "causes" of it and some such.

                Like chapter 1 is about religion and social workers. Chaper 2 plays on Hentai PC games, and has fun snowballing down to loli, stalker, cult, sucide groups, etc.

                One such chapter is about mmorpgs, in his search for cash without confronting people. He tries to RMT...and it goes downhill

                    That was really funny and yet really sad and pathetic at the same time. I think the word is "setsunai."

                    I liked all the just slightly off ffxi terms like sheru ringu instead of rinku sheru. The funniest joke was on me at the end when I felt sorry for the mithra girl he abandoned, but then ... well I don't want to spoil it, but I should've seen it coming. :3

                      The manga in question is Welcome to NHK (NHK ni youkoso). I don't think it has been licensed in the US yet. So you have to look around for scanslation. (Is it legal to post link to scanslation here?)

                          I would be one to buy something like that, whats better than reading about FFXI when you cant play it.
