Netflix, DVDPlanet, and several other similar services are good for getting the stuff that is available in your region on DVD. However, to get more current stuff (by the time you get the second Ghost in the Shell DVD, the second season will be 3/4's finished in Japan.. and ROD The TV will be 2 years old by the time all the DVDs are out in the US), you have to go through alternate means.Originally posted by Macht
Heh because I'm to lazy to start searching the net constantly for any new anime I got a source I go to that gives you just about every anime I've ever seen or heard about. Just go to DVD Planet
And, one of the things you said tings true: "just about every anime I've ever seen or heard about".... What about the brand-new shows like Fafner in the Azure: Dead Aggressor," and "Melody of Oblivion" and more?
sometimes, to get the new stuff, ya gotta hunt it down.
GitS:SAC is excellent. Really liked the ROD incarnations for the most part. And enjoyed Last EXILE as well [I wish they'd been more clear about the backstory (the actual history of the Exile; why it was sent out, how it came to be there, etc) but the ending of the series was good.]Now to best ones Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Read Or Die (ROD), R.O.D. the TV, Kiddy Grade, Last Exile, and Aquarian Age are the ones I've been enjoying recently.
Currently, I'm really, really digging Fullmetal Alchemist and with only two more episodes to go, things are looking like they're gonna ignite bigtime.
Although this last episode pulled a major twist that I'm not sure I like or that it serves the storyline. I'll have to wait and see.
