if you are into anime, here are some titles from various categories for you to try:

Gilgamesh-an act of terrorism leaves a layer of electromagnatism in the atmosphere causing computers to fail, and some children are born with psychic powers
Cosmic Stellvia- around the year 2186, a young girl embarks to study at the space colony Stellvia
Full Metal Alchemist- two young brothers search for a way to restore their bodies after a transmutation injured them
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu- the love/comedy based on the short stories by the creator of Full Metal Panic!

illl add more later, just try these for now (a.scarywater.net has torrents for all but cosmic stellvia, all can be found on irc [A-Keep] does full metal alchemist and full metal panic, [Rice-Box] does Cosmic Stellvia, forgot the name of last group)

FMP: Fumoffu was extremely funny although it went a little bit downhill towards the end.

    Haven't seen any of Gilgamesh,

FMA was not so good but others have liked it a lot. I think it was a bit childish (like Naruto) but lacked the ocasional cool scenes (like the ones in Naruto).

Stellvia was ok, but for some reason I just dropped it and never finished the series.

    Warrior L30, Dragoon L45+, Thief L70+, Paladin L25+, Monk L15+, Ninja L35+ , Ranger 40+

i consider Stellvia of the Universe/Uchuu no Stellvia to be the best anime of 2003.

no other anime has such an uptight... realistic feeling of drama, captures the feeling of college life, and offers such strikingly true observations during the entire series. the changes in perspective throughout the course of the anime correspond perfectly with the character development.

fmp: fumoffu was funny at first but it got tiring.

I recommend HIkaru no Go and Azumanga Daioh. Azumanga is hillarious, and Hikaru no Go is one of the best anime I have ever seen.
