1. Uchuu no Stellvia
-it had everything going for it. brilliant characters, brilliant plot, excellent atmosphere. dramatic and comedic. a combination of everything that is good.
2. Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar
-so underrated. in the end it's a really powerful drama and it's just... very very sad but very powerful in its childhood-like storytelling.
3. Azumanga Daioh
-super funny, no other anime has made laugh out loud.
4. ROD the TV
-more brilliance, excellent action series with great character development.
5. Kanon
-more personal, my first real anime drama... and man was it good.
6. Gundam SEED
-nice char development. good atmosphere. but sometimes toooooo fake.

Putting them in order will be difficult because the order changes all the time depending on my mood, but I'll try.

1. Gunslinger Girl (interesting story, interesting characters, realistic world)
2. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (so very touching )
3. Love Hina (great romance comedy, the best harem anime I have seen)
4. Chrno Crusade (nice action and nice comedy, occasionally a bit childish)
5. Hellsing (Alucard is an incredibly cool character, nice action)
6. Shingetsutan Tsukihime (good and mysterious story, serious and also quite sad)
7. Scrapped Princess (interesting story, the only anime with magic the way I like it)
8. Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu? (VERY funny! Some episodes just seem to concentrate on showing naked girls more than the comedy, though)
9. Neon Genesis Evangelion (Umm, just interesting)
10. Full Metal Panic (Like Fumoffu, but with boring action added to it)
