  • Ai Yori Aoshi & SakuraWars TV Question.

How is this anime from those that have seen it so far. Would someone (me) like if i like Love hina, Please Teacherand chobits? how heavy is the romance vs comedy or is it all romance? evey time i go into suncoast i see that series as i walk in from the door and it cathces my eye everytime. keep in mind i liked the above titles for their compelling storyline and charecter development (i dont really care about fanservice, if its their woot, if its not who cares)

Also i wanna star collecting sakurwa wars, can anyone infor as to what evil's they fight (im not really into fighting "demons" and such althoug i did watch and like the first two eps of devil hunter ryoko but am not collecting it, i liked it for the story *does it have to be demons XD*) but any how thanks in advance.

I can't answer your question about the Sakura Wars TV series, but I can say that it is probably similar to the OAVs and movies

Regarding Ai Yori Aoshi, I can say that the show is basically fanservice-oriented. However, even if you don't intend on watching the entire series, the first few episodes (those included on the premiere DVD) are a romance fan's dreams. The pure love shown by the main characters is better than any others; it is sweet and heartwarming unlike anything I've ever seen.

Unfortunately (probably due to bad ratings), the show goes down the pooper after that. New characters are introduced (including a horny, busty american woman who greets other women by grabbing/rubbing their breasts), and the fanservice level reaches a gross high. The characters begin to do things that are very unlike themselves, and the story degrades into a useless backdrop for more kinky sexual content.

I highly recommend DVD 1, but if you're turned off by fanservice-driven anime, I'd skip the...rest of the series.

cool, thanks for the info~ ive never seen the ova or the sakura movies either so idont really know anything abou it except in ones publishes site it reads tehy fight off the demons that try to destroy something (cant really remember) but on another site they just say the defen the capital~.

Ai yori Aoshi, it really gets that bad ><, that sucks. i dont wanna buy the first dvd if i not going to collect the whole series. i guess ill see if block buster has it, i notice you didnt say anything about the comedy >< any how illjust replace that with Your Under Aresst, another series that im instrested in. although suncost dosent sell them i was going to order the box set from anime castle or animenation. anime castle store is in NYC while ive orederd from animenation before but their all the way in california.

did you watch past the first dvd. i did ive bought the 1-3 dvd so far and i liked everything except for tv episodes, one was tina's introduction episode and the other was the overly cliched ferret introduction episoed. other than that i like the series a lot, i stayed up till 5am yesterday watching dvd 2 and 3 and there are several episodes that would have changed your mind about the series (mindfull that i am gratefull about you leading me to this wonderfull anime).

ill just point out the main episode wich is episode's which was 14 and 15. but mainly 15. in episode 15 "fellings of the heart" major charecter development takes place i mean the whole episode leades up to when he finally says the three little words and their relationship strengthens even more. but what leads up to it in episode 14 is whem mayu aggresivly and openly talks about her wannabe relationship with kaoru that it causes aoi alot of distress to the point were "miss manager" has to help the two along.

i mean i really hoped you watched beyond teh 1st dvd. out side of the whole ordeal the only thing i count on the topic of things they shouldnt have been doing (kaoru) was when everyone went out of town and it was just tina and kaoru in the house and he was acting stupid. other than that all the other strange upcomings that were added are just there to put their love on trial and to show how much they really want to be with each other.

now taeko and the photo club ill admit are fanservice. but that few and far inbetween. i really hope you give this series another go (if you havent seen all of it). id really liked it ^^, which is a surprise as its not that heavy on the comedy but im always a sucker for dramatic's and charecter development, but hate cliches (hince tina and the ferrets intro's). ahhh every time i think about this series i cant help but smile ^^. */sigh* in the end, if i was a girl in RL id be like "this series is like so cool *proceeds to tell all of her girlfriends who watch anime to get it**puts in first dvd**giggles* oh that kaoru he totally oblivious*simles warmly*"

but im not, im a guy so ill just say this series is mad cool and everyone should watch it, at least those who like comedy/romance or romance/comedy... yo~
