FLCL on Cartoon Network?

I was suprised to see that they would be showing FLCL starting August 4th at midnight i think. I wonder how its going to be when dubbed.

I really liked the dub for FLCL. It's one of the few that fit in with the style of the series, as wacky as it is.

I think FLCL is a great choice to run on Adult Swim. It can really show people that there is in fact an artistic side to anime, rather than just a crapload of violence and nudity.

hmmm...

is it just me or isn't that series supposed to be like 6 episodes long... thats not gonna give adult swim much to work with. Granted i've never seen it so I don't know how long it is but there are only 3 dvd's out and each is like 2 episodes long so...oh well we will have to see.

Well maybe its going to be on once a week, giving it 6 whole weeks, then CN will traditionally repeat the episodes again and again.

I read that it'll be re-aired about 5 or 6 times, then replaced with a new show.

You know what I hate? I hate when companies release limited edition box sets. Then I gotta pay 100 bucks just to get an empty box to put my DVDs in. Pain in the ass.

nope, its 4 days a week like all the other things on adult swim...oh and pai pai you don't have to buy the box set...but i hear you, i feel the same way, i just don't have the money to act on it!

btw pai pai in addition to flcl i think the dub for the series Bastard!! is really good, in fact i like it better the the sub...and I in general hate dub

hmm...CN also started airing episodes of Blue Gender...

I guess they figure the anime portions of Adult Swim are garnering higher ratings...

Um, i too saw F.L.C.L. for the first time last night. It's, uh, unique. Forgive my ignorance, but what is the story about? I was trying to follow it but i couldn't really understand it because of the way it had all these different scenes jumping from one after the other.

I haven't seen it all, so I'll try to explain it the best I can...

It's about a 12 year old boy named Naota and a 19 year old alien girl named Haruko. After Haruko hits Naota on the head with her guitar, 2 robots pop out of his head and fight eachother. One of the robots, called Lord Canti, becomes Naota's servent, and aids him in battling evil...stuff.

It's directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki (Assistant Director for Evangelion) and features character designs by (My God of All Art) Yoshiyuki Sadamato (Character Designer for Evangelion). Original story by Studio GAINAX, and animation by Production I.G.



It's definitely unique. Although it does not make too much sense the first few times you watch it, it'll start to come together towards episode 3 or 4. Supposedly, there is also a movie in the works.

i have already recored the first 3 and 4th is on tonight i dont know why but i like recording anime as a kind of hobby i still have a tape of robotech when it was on toonami years ago(cut commercials of course)

if im not mistaken, Yoshiyuki Sadamato is also the character designer for the entire .Hack project, games and tv shows included. that guy pwns all the other character designers, he's probably worked in as many as 30 video games, not to mension the tv shows and ova.

as for flcl, it seems to be more perverse than the worst parts of NGE. can't watch it normally cuz my little sister stays up til 1 am, but i watched snippets here and there.

Ya... this show is awsome I only seen ep.3-4 so far but im already hooked, (I love anything that confuses me yet still entertains the hell outa me.) after seeing ep. 4 tonight I went ona google search and well this is the story http://www.gainax.co.jp/flcl/products/index1-e.html
