  • Millenium Actress

For those of you who don't know, Satoshi Kon's "Millenium Actress," his follow up to "Perfect Blue," will be released on DVD by Dreamworks on October 28th.

Is anyone else REALLY looking forward to this film? I absolutely adored Perfect Blue, I think it's one of the best pieces of work ever created.

          ^_^!

If you look in the credits and see "ONIRO", that is Inoue-san's company. Nowadays I think he works for/at AIC.

Perfect blue when they first showed it had a different scene near the end, that disappeared. I only vaguely recall it because there were 3 rent-a-cutes dressed as Cham in the hall with us. (This was an SF taikai in Hiroshima!) It also showed Otaku in a quite realistic and harsh light.

Millenial Actress shares a lot of features, same basic directors, same character designer. But if you're looking for a thriller, nope. The music this time is Susumu Hirasawa, if you think of him as a Japanese version of Gary Numan, that would be about right. His website is called "Chaos Union", you can find it by googling for him.

This summer is going to suck, we have a pokemon (Barf, nintendo) movie.
