The thing that makes it difficult with a concept sketch is they don't always use all the ideas in it. Maybe at one time they did intend there to be a male mithra or Gria when this was drawn but since srcapped it. I'm sort of doubting we'll see a male mithra now but not sure if they might spring a new race closer to launch to stimulate interest. That's a marketing ploy often used. Let rumors fly for awhile and in the last minute confirm or deny them so its talked about close to launch.

You know what? Upon further reading the beta app rules.. I don't think it was for PS3 too.. I hope I don't get DQ'ed from the beta selection when I fill out the app again -.-

It is not for the PS3, they said the one for PS3 would come later.

Sounds right, for a port to be tested AFTER.

regardless of whatever that is for (probably just gathering information on preference), the fine print clearly states its for Windows version only:

* The current tester recruitment is for the Windows version of the FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Test only. Details regarding recruitment for the PlayStation 3 version will be released at a later date. * The game to be tested is under development, and may differ significantly from the commercial release. * Applicants may apply only once. They are both primary platforms from the beginning for XIV, as it was for XI. It was written in a neutral way that will target neither platforms specifics.

Don't worry, each platforms users will still be able to blame the other for perceived shortcomings.

PC was not a primary platform for FFXI, it was made for PS2, then ported to PC, and is why the PC version sucks so hard in terms of system resource use -.-

In the case of FFXIV it is being made for PC and PS3 in mind, but really you could say its being made for PC, and ported to PS3 (and maybe 360 later)
