Re: SQUARE-ENIX DKΣ3713 Private Party 2008
Are you sure Zeid belongs on the heroes side? I haven't finished the Bastok storyline yet but I've heard some rumors... (And why Kam'lanaut? If you want the character who is the villain for most of the storyline like Golbez, that would be Shadow Lord, and if you want more of an end-boss, that would be Eald'narche or arguably Promathia - although MMOs don't really have "end" bosses.)
Anyway, this lineup needs more women. I vote for Lenna and Terra to represent the heroes side of their respective games. And Lion for FFXI, too, if they were going to include it.
Galuf would be kind of cool for FFV, I guess. (Bartz? Bleah. They already have several of Bland Generic Hero Guy.) But if they try to shove Locke into the heroes slot for FFVI just because he's a guy, I'm going to be pissed. Bad enough that they're doing that with Tidus when the actual main character is Yuna, but at least there they have the excuse of wanting a more personal grudge with Jecht (although I would have preferred Yuna vs. Seymour as the FFX matchup, I never cared much about Jecht anyway. Sure, he was kind of a jerk, but compared to the guy trying to destroy the world, his jerkiness is pretty insignificant.)
It's hard to see how the heroes side of FFIV could be anyone but Cecil, especially given Golbez on the villain side. At least he has a bit more personality than Cloud, Squall or Tidus.
Aerith for FFVII would be a nice surprise. Just don't get sneak attacked. XD I agree that it probably will be Cloud, though. Boring.
Maybe there will be more than two characters per game unlockable or something - otherwise I predict a lot of disappointment about the characters that were left out. (Kain, Tifa, Aerith, Garnet, Yuna, Gilgamesh, Seifer, Beatrice, Seymour, Jenova, Edea... and that's without being familiar with the early games.)
