What annoys me is I gotta do it every time I go to the site...

Now, Lodestone does this too but Lodestone also remembers my account so I don't have to re-log every time I go there unless I logout or use some other means to get to the site. I'm hoping since the forums are only in beta they'll fix this eventually as it's annoying having to put in my SE info every time.

Extensive alterations to the game have also stopped. All that is coming is tweaks and little additions that require a minimum of work. The user base is contracting and last numbers SE released showed a significant portion of the players are using the PS2.

You're not going to make a business case for major changes. Because I want it isn't a business case.

So you're saying we should be perfectly content with allowing the game to atrophy?

You don't have to log in to browse, though. I've been lurking all day.

Pain in the ass if you want to actually post, but you don't have to log in right away when you go there.

It probably isn't worth investing in XI anymore though.

I'll agree it's way too late to bother with it anymore. Like I said, it's way past the time for moving on. And XIV managed to destroy both itself and any real posibilities for XI's improvement (and survival.)

Heck, by now I'd just settle with ATI fixing their drivers so I didn't have to use 2 year old ones to play XI decently with radeon HD cards.

By now? Nothing that would be practical and/or cost effective to implement. Just stick to windower plug-ins and own console players with your uber 100 line macros and forced AA.
