I just think it is very possible to be elitist and still respectful. Who knows? Maybe Aksannyi's LS was hated because they made it a point to just go to HNM spawns just to antagonize people. Or they had an updated LSmessage daily that ran along the lines of "Go to Port Jeuno and laugh at XYZ player because all of her AF is only +1." I hope that isn't the case. I wouldn't hate a LS just because they were demanding though.

So far, I don't see anybody on the Official forums saying:
"You suck! You're a n00b! Take your non-gearswapping ass out of here and don't procreate! LOL!"

People have actually be pretty respectful, but firm on their ideas. But I couldn't post there if people like NatureBeckles are going to be wrong and rude.

I don't have a problem with elitists as long as they don't try to tell me how to play.

Of course, if I join a LS and people start trying to force me to do things their way onry or try to condition my stay due to a particular set of gear or playstyle they are swiftly ignored and the LS tossed in the nearest incinerator available.

So far, I don't see anybody on the Official forums saying:

I'd imagine we'll get there by the week's end if NatureBeckles keeps posting dumb shit and insisting she's not a terrible player.

Oh no, we never did that kind of shit. We watched the other shells do it, and laugh at them in linkshell. We were hated for about three main reasons:

1. Stanislav
2. We didn't accept everyone, and we weren't nice about turning people down who were really clueless (you'd be amazed how many people with no basic knowledge of how to gear their jobs would apply to the most elite endgame linkshell on the server and then be butthurt when they didn't get accepted).
3. We didn't suck at the game.

That's basically it. Probably a jealousy thing. While some linkshells were wiping to Fafnir with 12, we were killing it with 8 in 20 minutes. That sort of thing. People hated us for being good and knowing wtf we were doing. I assume there's one of these linkshells on every server. And there's also the linkshell that invites a zillion people to join because they think numbers = better. And then there's the JP shell stuck in 2006, and the shell that's kind of okay but not really all that spectacular either. And possibly a few more.

I try not to talk a lot of shit in that regards, because Ex was one of the most known linkshells, love us or hate us, when I played, everyone knew us. Not sure if the shell is still around at this point, as I haven't kept in touch with any of them. But I was extremely proud to get in.

I don't like for anyone to tell me how to play, but I'm happy for any and all suggestions. I happen to be fairly open to different suggestions, so maybe I'm not normal in that area, but there's a big difference between suggesting an area where someone can improve and telling them they are gimp for playing the way they do, or trying to force them to play the way you feel they should.

Vote with your feet, I figure. You don't like the way someone plays in your group, or if you don't like the suggestions someone is making wrt your playstyle? Leave.

I don't think he was ever on Siren. He came to Hades a long time ago when the server first started and I think from Alexander or Phoenix, can't remember off the top of my head. You might be thinking of someone else. IMPOSTER! Though I could be wrong. I mean coming to Hades was back in 2004, when the server started. So a very damn long time ago.

That said, he's one of those "love him or hate him" types of guys in this game, and there's so much wrong information people spout about him from ages and ages ago that it's hard to even know what to believe. What I know is that he was a pretty nice guy, a very good leader - very fair, to boot, and I'll always be grateful to him for giving me the shot to join Excellence in the first place.

There was somebody named Stanislav on our server way back in the day. I got mad at his party for camping over my party in Valley of Sorrows or something. I was young. I was naive. I had never been camped over before. I scorned him on some KillingIfrit forum and, looking back, it was undeserved.

Not long after that though, I remember that some drama between him and some HNM LS leader named Equipto was the talk of the server; we had an unofficial server forum site which was pretty popular back then and people brought all their emotional baggage onto the forums. And those two happened to have a lot of it.

Also: no reason to feel guilty of pointing out the shortcomings of Official Forum because them people over at Official Forum do it too!

I couldn't say if that was the same guy or not. Never heard anything about it. But whether it was or not, I knew him as a pretty cool guy that took a lot of flak for leading one of the most successful and exclusive linkshells across all servers. That's gonna breed a lot of hate just on its own.

But there's no way for us to know either way, so I guess it does no good to talk about him. Lol.

The Haste thread has, sadly, all but died, and the Stop Player Bashing thread is also slowing down. This saddens me.

We're a small community that most of BG (at least from what I hear, if I happen to bring this place up) has forgotten about or just thinks that we've been long dead.

I'm definitely okay with that. We have what, two dozen regular posters? We know each other, we have our debates/arguments/fallings out/etc., and we generally don't have to worry about retardation and trolling. Much.

KI is dead honestly, and has been pretty much since I joined the game in 2009. DiV is way more healthy than KI, because we're totally awesome like that.
